Brightness, measured in ANSI lumens, is the specification that decides whether a projected image is readable. In a meeting room with daylight, 3,500 lumens is a sensible minimum; a large hall or a room with big windows needs 5,000 or more. Resolution matters next: WXGA is adequate for slides, while Full HD or 4K suits detailed spreadsheets, drawings and video.

Epson's business and education projectors are the core of our range, from portable models for presenters on the move to installation-class laser projectors for auditoriums. Short-throw and ultra-short-throw projectors sit close to the wall, so presenters do not walk through the beam and shadows are avoided — the standard choice for classrooms with interactive whiteboards.

For meeting rooms that are used all day, a large-format display from LG, Samsung or Philips can be a better fit than a projector: no lamp, no screen, and a sharp image in any light. We supply projection screens, ceiling mounts and cabling, and our presentation solutions team installs the complete room.

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers from the Colion International sales desk.

Which projector is best for a classroom?

Colion International usually recommends an Epson short-throw projector of 3,500–4,000 lumens for classrooms. It sits close to the wall, avoids shadows on the board, and laser models remove the cost of lamp replacements.

Is a projector or a TV display better for a meeting room?

For rooms up to about 3 metres screen width with lots of daylight, a large-format display is sharper and needs no maintenance. For larger images or flexible spaces, a projector is more economical. Colion International supplies both and can advise for your room.

Do you supply projector screens and ceiling mounts?

Yes. Colion International supplies manual and motorised projection screens, ceiling and wall mounts and HDMI cabling, and installs the complete setup.
